A lipstick that donates 100 percent of the selling price toward helping women, men, and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
What it does:
Created in 1994, the passionate red VIVA GLAM Lipstick raised money and awareness for HIV/AIDS at a time when the pandemic was dramatically affecting fashion communities in particular, as well as the wider world. Then and today, an unprecedented 100 percent of the purchase price of any VIVA GLAM product goes toward the MAC AIDS Fund. As the largest corporate non-pharmaceutical giver in the arena, the MAC AIDS Fund is committed to addressing the link between poverty and HIV/AIDS by supporting diverse organizations around the world that provide a wide range of services to people living with HIV/AIDS. To date, the MAC AIDS Fund has raised over $400 million exclusively through the sale of Viva Glam Lipstick.
In 1994 MAC introduced Viva Glam, an outspoken deep red. In 1997, Viva Glam II was created—a pinked mauve. Viva Glam III, a foxy brown plum, launched in 2000. In 2004, Viva Glam V made its debut—a pure neutral pink with a lustre finish. The most recent Viva Glam VI is a warm terracotta-plum with a pearl finish.
